A good location is only the beginning. Before a perfume vending machine goes live, the operator needs to check power, connectivity, payment, fragrance flow and the customer path around the unit.
This is a practical launch checklist based on a real Good2Own installation and test. It is not a staged claim of high sales. The goal is simpler: make day one predictable.
1. Confirm the exact position
Place the machine where people naturally slow down and can use it without blocking a doorway or queue. The screen should be visible from the direction of approach, and the service door must remain accessible for refills.
2. Check power and network
Use a stable power outlet and confirm the local network before mounting or enclosing the machine. Test the connection where the unit will actually operate, not across the room. Mobile signal, Wi-Fi and wired options vary by venue.
3. Load fragrances and prime each line
Install the six bottles, confirm every line is connected to the correct selection and run test sprays until the flow is consistent. Label the internal positions so a future refill cannot swap two scents by mistake.
4. Configure payment for the country
Payment is not one-size-fits-all. Card acceptance, QR wallets, cash preferences and settlement rules differ by market. Complete a real low-value transaction and confirm that the machine receives the success signal before launch.
5. Test the customer journey
Ask someone who has not seen the setup to use it. Can they understand the offer, choose a scent, pay and position themselves for the spray without help? A short live test often catches more than a long technical checklist.
6. Set the first service routine
Record the starting bottle levels, cleaning routine and contact person at the venue. Review early sales frequently, then adjust refill visits once a stable pattern appears.
A short pre-launch checklist
Before leaving the venue, confirm: the cabinet is stable and locked; every scent matches its button; payment succeeds; the spray zone is clear; screen content is correct; remote status is visible; and the venue knows whom to contact.
Then monitor what actually happens. A location can be improved through pricing, scent mix, signage and placement. The first setup is the starting point, not the final answer.
